Solar Transformer

Transformers are a critical component in solar energy production and distribution, stepping voltage up or down as energy moves from the point of generation to the grid. RGL Export supplies a full range of solar transformers — including distribution, substation, pad-mounted, and grounding types — each engineered to meet the specialized performance and cost requirements of solar applications, with heat-related volume variations typically managed using a nitrogen gas cushion thermally uncoupled from the dielectric liquid.

Distribution Transformer

RGL Export supplies a wide range of distribution transformers from 10–2500 KVA, across all voltage classes up to 33 KV, in both single- and three-phase configurations. Available as free-breathing, conservator-fitted, or hermetically sealed units, our transformers are engineered to perform reliably across diverse operating environments.

Hermetically sealed transformers are completely maintenance-free, making them ideally suited for exposed outdoor environments with moisture, salt, or dust — commonly deployed in chemical plants and oil & gas terminals where limited accessibility makes regular maintenance impractical. Transformers immersed in synthetic coolants, meanwhile, are well suited for indoor use with adequate ventilation, or for installation near load centers where oil-filled units would not be environmentally acceptable.

USS Transformer (Unitized Transportable Substation)

Our Unitized Transportable Substation (USS) delivers efficient power feeding from high to low voltage in open-cast mines, construction sites, and metro city applications. Compact and built for frequent relocation, the substation is mounted on a skid frame, wheels, or channels, and equipped with lifting hooks for easy handling in outdoor environments.

Dry Type Transformer

Our Dry Type Transformers feature Class ‘H’ insulation, engineered with high-dielectric-strength materials capable of withstanding elevated temperatures in full compliance with IEC-60076 / IS-2026 / IS-1171 standards. Available up to 1600 KVA and 11 KV class.

Available Versions:

  • Open-type execution for installation in an existing panel or enclosure
  • Well-ventilated enclosure with lip-cut louvers and baffles for outdoor installation
  • Non-ventilated enclosure for outdoor installation

  • Use of non-biodegradable materials suited for strict environmental conditions
  • No fire or explosion hazards, thanks to non-flammable materials and the absence of liquid insulation
  • No oil sump required, enabling installation near load centers, reducing cabling costs, and improving voltage regulation

Zero Maintenance

  • Significantly reduced maintenance and a cleaner installation footprint due to the absence of insulating liquid
  • Life-cycle analysis confirms long-term cost-effectiveness, despite a higher initial investment
  • Easy handling and convenient access to active parts for inspection
  • Designed to required BIL values and tested for dynamic short-circuit performance
Cast Resin Transformer

Manufactured from cold-rolled, grain-oriented steel with low specific losses, our Cast Resin Transformers are insulated on both sides with a thin inorganic coating for enhanced durability. Uniform pressing, stiffness, and column solidity ensure a low noise level, with high- and low-voltage winding configurations available to suit application needs. Tested to IEC 726 / IS 2026 / IS 11171 standards, with optional temperature-rise or full-wave impulse testing available on request. Available up to 5000 KVA and 11 KV class.

Instrument Transformer

Instrument Transformers are high-accuracy-class electrical devices used to isolate or transform voltage and current levels for safe, precise measurement. Most commonly used to operate metering and protection instruments from high-voltage or high-current circuits, they safely isolate secondary control circuitry from primary system voltages and currents — with the primary winding connected to the high-voltage/current circuit, and the meter or relay connected to the secondary circuit.
